On March 13, IRC will host a reception on the Human Right to Water and Sanitation at the Peace Palace in The Hague with attendees from around the globe.

The evening will be opened by the Municipality of The Hagues’ Deputy Mayor Liesbeth Tongeren welcoming attendees and several high profile Dutch and international speakers. These include, Marriët Schuurman, Dutch Human Rights Ambassador and Catarina de Albuquerque, former United Nations Special Rapporteur on Water and Chief Executive Officer of Sanitation and Water for All (SWA). The speakers will draw attention to the ongoing challenge for billions of people worldwide in securing safe and sustainable access to water and sanitation as identified in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The SDGs, with ambitious goals set for 2030, will only be met if we all work together. At IRC, we see securing the right to water and sanitation as being critical to the delivery of all the Sustainable Development Goals.

Guests at the event will include global representatives from governments, businesses and non-profits. Attendance at the event is by invite only.
