Whenever possible, advisory missions are carried out together with local partners on a participatory basis. This helps to develop local capacity, generate new knowledge and identify areas for training and research. It also enables IRC staff to learn together with all those involved in the programme/project, in order to improve sector performance.

IRC staff, together with partners, cover a wide range of specializations and are in regular contact with the field. More than 30 IRC staff members have the expertise to develop knowledge sharing and institutional development in response to your needs.

IRC staff work as facilitators in helping people make their own decisions; are equal partners with sector professionals from the South; stimulate dialogue among all parties to create trust and promote change; and create a learning environment to develop better alternatives.
