John Sauer has started as Assistant Director Thought Leadership at Water For People (USA). He worked as Communications Director for Water Advocates in Washington, DC until the NGO closed down at the end of 2010. In his new position, John supports organisational learning and works to influence change in the water sector by documenting and sharing innovations from the field.
John has worked as a programme manager with several international humanitarian organizations over the last 19 years. His responsibilities ranged from managing water and sanitation projects in Uganda to developing an emergency aid programme for street children in St. Petersburg, Russia. He has a Master's degree in International and Intercultural Management from the School for International Training in Brattleboro, VT. John blogs on water and sanitation issues in the Huffington Post.
