On Friday 21 October, Triple-S Uganda organised a media dialogue in Kampala, which attracted over 25 journalists and editors from print and electronic media as well as officials from the Ministry of Water and Environment, Directorate of Water Development (Rural Water Department) and actors from Non-Government Organisations in the WASH Sector.

The theme of the media dialogue was: Working with the media to raise the profile of rural water services.
Two keynote presentations were delivered. The first presentation addressed the theme: Rural Water Services: why it should top the public agenda, delivered by Engineer Joseph Oriono Eyatu an Assistant Commissioner in the Rural Water Department, Ministry of Water and Environment. The second keynote presentation addressed the theme: Beyond transient coverage of WASH: opportunities and challenges. It was delivered by Mrs Barbara Kaija, Editor in Chief of Vision Group, Uganda's leading media house.
From the dialogue, recommendations were made as to how the media and WASH actors can work together to promote issues concerning WASH in Uganda.
