Due to his impending retirement, Aat van der Wel has transferred his duties as Managing Director of WASTE to Jacqueline Barendse as of 1 February 2011. Ms Barendse has been with WASTE as Senior Business Adviser since November 2009. She has worked for Philips Electronics, ING Bank, Triodos Bank and in her own investment company. Before joining WASTE, she worked for six years for ECORYS, a consultancy organisation.
Until his retirement in mid 2011, Mr. Van der Wel will continue working with WASTE as Senior Adviser, after which he plans to resettle in his second home country Tanzania. He has worked for WASTE for almost 5½ years.
WASTE advisers on urban environment and development is a non-profit based in Gouda, The Netherlands, with projects in Africa, Asia, Latin America and Eastern Europe.
