On 31 May 2012, Mr. Thierry Barbotte, Managing Director of Vergnet Hydro SAS, and Nico Terra, Director of IRC International Water and Sanitation Centre, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) defining the two organisations’ collaboration in the field of knowledge development for better operation of WASH services. The goal is to improve access to water services in rural areas in Africa.

Vergnet Hydro and IRC will work together to improve knowledge in the water sector using the life-cycle cost approach and the service delivery approach. The two organisations aim to find sustainable solutions for key problem areas in the water sector including: water supply, equipment maintenance, and operations in rural areas in developing countries.
This MoU serves as a framework agreement for creating and promoting joint activities in the following main areas:
