The case study of how the Sustainable Services at Scale (Triple-S) Project in Ghana has used awareness raising as a stimulus for change was shared at the 6th World Water Forum in Marseille.

The presentation was made in a session on: “Effective Water communications and awareness rising through global and integrated network”. The session showcased examples of awareness raising and communications best practices from various countries.

The Triple-S project uses invocacy and advocacy as its approach to awareness raising in the project implementation. Awareness raising is mainstreamed into all three phases of the project:

  •  Phase 1: heightening awareness of the problem where the project engaged with various stakeholders to create the necessary conditions for piloting the Service Delivery Approach(SDA) in selected regions across Ghana.
  •  Phase Two: providing evidence to support the argument for change through piloting and documentation.
  •  Phase Three:  is related primarily to ensuring that the learning that takes place in Phase 2 is taken up and widely replicated in the country as a whole. It is also about ensuring that any policy implications of experimenting in pilot districts and regions are taken into account and acted upon.

The presentation was given by Lamisi Dabire, Communications and Knowledge Management Specialist on the Triple-S Ghana Project.
