Abstract

This research had the following objectives: a. to provide information at household level into activities and attitudes regarding water, health and sanitation within the households of Hai El Tadamon (a new neighbourhood on the western outskirts of Gedaref in Sudan); b. to make recommendations on: i. the design of the hygiene education programme, ii. the involvement of women in the water project. Questions posed included: What are the intrahoushold activities and attitudes regarding water, health and sanitation in Hai el Tadamon? And, in which way can women be involved in the Hai el Tadamon water project?
