Abstract | This short paper and the datasheets that are attached to it presents a summary of the volume of funding and the level of priority given to water and sanitation - and, where data are available, how these have changed between 1970 and 1995. It also includes some data on the volume of funding for other aspects of primary health care - where these are available - since primary health care services and the initiatives to control or cure diseases at community level (many of which are water-related) are an essential complement to improved water and sanitation in achieving improved health. |
