The Asunafo South District Assembly and its partners are implementing a 7-year water sanitation and hygiene initiative - "Asunafo South Nsupa Ne Ahotee Nkosuo (ASNAN)," which seeks to ensure that every person in the district - households, health and educational institutions has access to safe and sustainable water, sanitation and hygiene services by 2030.
As part of the implementation process, the Assembly in partnership with Project Maji and IRC Ghana has successfully completed the retrofitting of seven existing point sources into Small Town Mechanised Water Systems at Kamirekrom, Pafo Nkwanta, Sikafremogya, Anum, Manhyia No. 4, Adwunam, and Nseinua communities. By leveraging the strengths of each partner, this collaboration is unlocking sustainable access to safe drinking water to a number of water-poor communities in the district, delivering long-term, non-traditional, innovative solutions that last. This event is to officially commission the water stations for use as outlined in the programme below.
