Collective Action for WASH Systems Strengthening in the Sahel region, Ethiopia and the Agenda for Change global secretariat

Collective action efforts to explicitly target and work together with actors from different public sectors, so that WASH services are appropriately embedded in broader systems of water resources management and public service delivery; and also achieve health outcomes.

The programme of collective action for WASH systems strengthening will be implemented from 1 January 2024 to 30 June 2026 (30 months) and consists of three main components:

  • Component 1: in the Sahel countries (Burkina Faso, Mali and Niger), IRC will contribute to health impact, by accelerating access to basic, and safely managed, water and sanitation services.
  • Component 2: in Ethiopia, the project will continue to support South Ari’s district costed WASH master plan implementation through resource mobilisation, annual budget, and expenditure tracking, monitoring, capacity building and professionalisation of services.
  • Component 3: the Agenda for Change global secretariate will undertake advocacy, knowledge management, collaboration and evidence building activities.
