| Abstract | The topic of this issue of the newsletter is earth dams. The article describes a project in the village of Gangalma, Burkina Faso, where in 1986 an earth dam was constructed. To avoid contamination of the water, a well was dug behind the dam a year later. In eight illustrated steps, site selection and the construction of an earth dam is shown. Health and maintenance guidelines are also briefly given. |
