Abstract | After an introduction to fragility in Ethiopia, this presentation describes the WASH emergency resilience and peace triple nexus framework, which includes WASH building blocks. It then lists emergency responses including the activities of the WASH Cluster, the Ethiopia Rapid Response Mechanisms (RRM), groundwater suitability mapping, the shift towards durable systems and conflict sensitive programming. The presenation concludes with recommendations on the need to bridge the nexus between emergency and development. Presentation by Lavuun Verstraete, UNICEF Ethiopia, shared at the All Systems Go Africa symposium 19-21 October 2022, under the thematic area 5: Systems strengthening in fragile contexts: lessons learned through practice. |
