Abstract

This Training of Trainers (TOT) manual, developed by USAID Transform WASH, is a comprehensive guide designed to enhance the outcomes of WASH projects in Ethiopia. It addresses the critical need for improved water, sanitation, and hygiene services, which are fundamental to quality of life, health, environment, and economic benefits. The manual acknowledges the global and local challenges in accessing basic drinking water and sanitation services, and the disparities between urban and rural areas in Ethiopia. The manual addresses identified gaps in WASH sector planning, financing, coordination, implementation, monitoring, evaluation, and reporting. It aims to build the capacity of government staff in the WASH sector, helping trainees cascade the training and use the manual as a reference in their work. The ultimate goal is to improve WASH project outcomes and meet sector expectations through enhanced planning, budgeting, coordination, implementation, monitoring, evaluation, and reporting.
