Abstract | This paper argues that there does not seem to be a binding water constraint on sustainable development. Where such a constraint exists, there are many examples of technical solutions which can be applied to prevent "water wars" breaking out. It is also noted that stringent adherence to environmental impact assessment requirements for water projects may lead to delays in crucial development fields. |
